Renters must be 18 or older and able to ride a performance road bike safely on open roads. At pick-up you must present a valid government photo ID. Riders based in the United States provide a driver's license or state ID card number. Riders from outside the United States provide a passport number. We verify the document in person before the bike is released.
You tell us the purpose of the rental when you book, for example leisure, training, a race or event, a triathlon or a tour. The bike is loaned to you alone. You agree not to sublet it, not to lend it to a third party and to use it only for the purpose you stated and within the laws of the road.
You understand that cycling is a hazardous activity that involves inherent and other risks, including falling, collision with other cyclists, motor vehicles or fixed objects, and variable road conditions. You accept that injury, and in rare cases death, is a real and ordinary possibility. You freely and knowingly accept and assume these risks each time you ride.
As a condition of every rental you agree to wear a road cycling helmet at all times while riding. You agree to obey all traffic laws and to ride responsibly on public roads. If at any point the bike does not feel safe, stop riding and return it to us for inspection.
You are responsible for the bike and equipment during the rental period. If the bike is damaged while in your care, you are responsible for the repair, carried out by Global Bike Rent. If the bike is lost or stolen, you are responsible for its full retail replacement value. Report any damage or theft to us immediately.
A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card at pick-up and released after the bike is returned in the same condition, normal wear excepted. Outstanding repair or replacement costs may be charged against this deposit.
In consideration of each bike lent to you, you agree not to make any claim against or sue Global Bike Rent, its partner stores, and their staff and representatives for any injury, death, property damage or other loss connected with the selection, maintenance, condition or use of the bike or equipment, whether based on negligence or any other theory. You confirm that you have read this agreement of your own free will and understand the release of liability it contains.
